Hi Everyone
I'm new to this forum. I have a SL1950 and it only seems to be running on one cylinder. There is a good spark on all plugs (also put new plugs in). there seems to be no fuel getting to the two back cylinders but i have squerted fuel into carbs but there is no difference. There is plenty of compression in all cylinders.
Can enyone help?
Many thanks
Tony

what year? how many hours? How did you verify spark? Are you sure the wires are on the right cylinders (I know- dumb question)?  Is it cranking good on it's own without any assistance, or is the battery weak and using a charger to crank it over? Have you upgraded the stator and cdi box yet to the fixed version (1998 or newer)?

I have been fighting mine for months now, finally think its FIXED for good.  First my stator died after 77 hours (had one shorted pickup lead internally). I replaced it with a new style since the original 1997 stators ALL failed after 70-90 hours! (bad supplier). Then it would intermittently spark but NOT START for a week, until i realized that the voltage was dropping too much during cranking because the battery was weak. I put in a new battery, and BAMMMMM starts instantly every time, for a month now.

Also, have you checked for major cracks in the block or in those cylinders, or major intake leaks from the carbs or around the reed cages?  Possibly the reed cages are stuck closed or blocked?

If your certain the battery is good, and spark is good, try spraying gas into the cylinder and then putting the spark plugs in, and crank right away.  Don't be afraid of fouling it, this engine LOVES fuel.

If it has fuel, compression, spark, the only other thing is timing and mixture- too lean will prevent firing, and a bad cdi box may cause the timing to be all off. Also the flywheel may have come loose or the timing sensor may have come loose.

UPDATE:
I took out the ski today for a punch ride.  It ran awesome, no bogging, stalling, overheating, or anything. It only hit about 62mph today, but it's been sitting for over a year and a half, old fuel, and probably some stuff in the speed sensor.  I also ran my old kawasaki 750 the same time, and switched back and forth, ---- MAN what a huge as$ difference in power. I had always loved the hard launch of the kawa, but it lacks top speed. This 1050 not only jumps out of the water on launch, but it normally tops out almost 20mph faster than my 750 Kawasaki. I want my 68-70mph back now that it's running again. I can't wait to run a few tanks of fuel through it-

email me for any help you need.
